What projects has /ic/ been a part of?
Never been a part of one before but I'm helping do concept art for a time travel loli game at 8 chan dot net's /loli/ board inspired by UAB that deals with the 50s and the retrofuture. Here is a concept by the creator himself (Remuslupinart) but here I guess I can post the clothes we will be using for 50s levels.
We hope we can get more concept artists to help since he takes a long time (a perfectionist) so feel free to join the art pool?

The fuck does this even mean?

Do you have money? No? Fuck off then, nobody here will be a part of any "project". Guys here who are working on something bigger are either a) employed by the studio and can't really speak about the project they are working on b) are paid as freelancers and also can't speak about the projects due to contracts
There's only 1 guy here that more or less doesn't give a fuck, he works on "Legend of the Cryptids" art.

Don't take it at face value.
Some anons never got any work based on drawing and painting and think their case is the same as the majority of people here.
I "drew" a webcomic for four months.
"Drew" in parenthesis because what I really did was draw characters, props and backgrounds and arrange them to create comic strips.
The initial scripts I received were very simple. Working at a casual rate I could use this method to create many strips. Payment per strip was $10. So I designed an entire workflow based on simple dialog based strips and I could get a strip done in an hour, sometimes less.
Problem #1 is that I was asked to go into production immediately, as publishing would begin within less than a month. I constructed a game plan as one possible approach and it was immediately signed off on. I was to begin creating material immediately.
Problem #2 was complexity. The strips started simple enough but once they got up to #30 or so the complexity shot up. More backgrounds and more new characters, which slowed me down but weren't a huge issue. But there were also more advanced requests in the stories themselves. More dynamic action and storytelling. The workflow I worked out to aid productivity was completely counter-intuitive and I ended up doing only a strip a day. Had I not been rushed to start production I would have been able to look further ahead in the story and seen what was coming. I would have started with hand drawn strips and requested more money.
Problem #3 is I experienced a complete mental breakdown. Partially over work, partially over bullshit in my personal life. Life became hell.
After four months I was feeling suicidal and gave my two weeks notice. While I did behave unprofessionally in allowing personal issues to affect my work, I feel a little spark of pride for never missing a deadline and for ending things like a man instead of just vanishing and leaving the writer out in the cold. Over four months I made 52 strips and a logo.
Overall it was a worthwhile experience. I got insight into the life of a commercial artist, earned $600 and most importantly learned I can push myself for a deadline.
Visual Novel with aliens. Embarrassing I know

I had a browse and as far as I can tell, there's 1 guy who wants to donate $100 per month to it because he's not allowed to keep the money for some reason.

As literally THAT guy AKA Knob I just want to ask what you mean by "not allowed to keeo the money for some reason"
Did someone impersonate me or did I say something weird?
>>2764994
as far as I can remember I remember reading a quote from you to the effect of "I can't keep the money so I may as well spend it on this" when asked why you were funding the project.

Ah yeah well basically I just feel indebted to the loli community since the artists work so hard for so little pay because most people (depending on your country) do not want to risk trouble by aiding in projects like this when the girls are just 2D. I just want the artists to feel appreciated. We owe that much to them, especially with their persecution everywhere else they take.
.
Not to mention I have nothing better to spend on lol
