They're on the better end of disposable fineliners. I think most people would be happy with them but won't need 4 different line weights.

Those would work, but unless they really like pens they're likely to lose 3 of them in the first week.

I always recommend one really nice pen. Either a Pentel Pocket Brush, or a Copic multiliner and a few refill cartridges.

Op you should definitely get a pentel pocket brush pen. The fine liners are good, but the pentel is more of a companion pen + in my opinion a way better gift.
