But that's the thing, DD doesn't "get it right" the same as 2D gestures. Does that mean the tool isn't that good for referencing poses? And why would to gesture than use the tool? Isn't it for the other way around?

Go to one of the porn boards like /s/, /gif/, /hm/

find a pose you like

recreate it in DD so you can use it at any angle

>download standard proportion chart (with a front & side view)
>import chart as a background in DD
>line up your model with the background chart
>use the tools to change the default model into a perfectly proportional figure
>save model for easy access

Shift F3: Back
F4: Model's left side
Shift F4: Model's right side.

Ankles and wrist move entire limbs.
Elbows and knees do the limb twist
Pelvic box moves the pelvis (the tiny arrow under it tilts the pelvis)
Middle box (midriff area) arches the lower back.
High box moves the ribs.

Shoulders can be directly moved.
Clicking on the chest will allow you to turn it.
Next can be manipulated.
Head can me manipulated.

No? DD, Poser, XPS, CSP's model etc. are meant to be used when you can't find/take a useful reference picture for a composition you've already planned. If you're using it without a solid idea in mind or sketch, you'll just come out with crap like OP.

If you want to be a scrub. Use it for reference to apply your actual knowledge of anatomy onto. Tracing it is not going to help you anything.

if u use DD as a reference and not tracing u can do great things.

the engine is pretty bad to manipulate the doll, there is no rotation tool besides on the head, you can't adjust things separately unless you drag them, and more. there are better alternatives to make sexy kawaii poses..
