you can set the price at whatever you want
As far as being 'practical' , base your price on your fanbase enthusiasm
But again you dont need to be 'practical or reasonable'. Set the price whatever you fell like pricing

Just be fair anon
I sometimes compare prices with other people around my level
Depends on how you define "commissions".
If you offer your rates before hearing what people want (ie. some Tumblr-tier, fast-food style commission list), then you are an idiot.

Price it on dollars per square inch. East Coast Gallery USA $2 a square inch. West Coast is less like $1.25 per square inch. A 16 x 20 piece is 320 square inches for $640.
I still am not producing quality enough pieces to make more money per hour than I get paid flipping burgers. I worked 12 hours on a 16 x 20 piece and am only 40% done. I might get $15 per hour for my time.
