What does /ic/ think of mark crilley used to love his youtube videos when i was like 13 or 14
he is a meme

Well but is his art work good or bad and is he worth listening too
>>2756420
It's.. not bad, but with all the resources we have in the sticky, the art book thread, the nma, Vandruff, Peter Han, Vilppu and Scott Robertson torrents, I'd call watching his vids a waste of time.
>>2756409
he's definitely a good artist but his videos aren't about fundamentals

When I was just starting to draw I couldn't find any good resources because whenever I'd google "how to draw manga" (yea back then I didn't know about the fundamentals, just wanted to draw qt lolis), Mark Crilley's stuff would show up everywhere along with that shit from Scholastic. I wasted half a year with his videos and his book that had a high rating on amazon before I found /ic/
His comics aren't actually that great and the videos just teach you to copy or symbol draw more than anything.

I've watched a few of his videos and he's the perfect example of "How to draw an eye" tutorial guy. You know. How to draw this specific eye, with this specific light, only like this. Waste of time. Party-trick drawing that falls apart whenever someone asks you to draw a horse instead.

I used to love his videos when I was like 11-13 but I mean just look at that nub of a arm
