Hi /ic/,

Sorry for this crap again but i have to ask something:

I own an Intuos Pen small tablel and I have the option to buy a Cintiq 12wx rather cheap, and considering that where i live no shop sells any of the graphic tablets and online shops don't ship here:

Is it worth it? I've read that color saturation is off and the stand is bad.. Does any of you anons use it? Can you work around this?
>>
>>2753032
>Is it worth it?

Fuck no. It's outdated and when it was released back in its day it was still shit. You'll be fighting to keep all your panels on screen and you'll have limited space. It's even smaller than a regular sketchpad. Your colors will be way off that you'd have to swap monitors to do color. And the the amount of cables you have to lunge around.

Just save up for the 13HD or wait for the newer cintiqs to come out which shouldn't be too long from now.
>>
>>2753049
Guess I`ll do just that, save up for a 13HD, thanks a lot anon.

I own a 12wx and it's trash, my family man. I don't use it anymore and I refuse to make it another artist's problem (but I also can't bring myself to just throw it away with how much it cost). If you're going to get a Cintiq, go big or go home. That said, it'd be more practical and quite a bit cheaper to get the Huion Giano or Intuos Large and invest in a second monitor (for references/tool dockers etc.) than any given Cintiq, really.

Hey anons, another question, is Surface Pro 4 good for art? All I can find is deviantart animu beginner speedpaints..

What are some actually good Graphic tablets Anon?
Or whatever they are called
>>
>>2753153
If you quality and dont spend to much, look for a used, large Intuos 3, they are still one of the best in my opinion. But look out that you get addition nibs (tip of the pen, which wears down after some use) along for it.

The Intuos 3 is great, probably the best default drawing surface any Wacom product has had before or since imho, look for the "regular A5" model which was the equivalent of the large if I recall correctly.

...That said, the Intuos 5 or Pro Large (with a surface cover) or the Huion Giano are both very good current options. Leagues better than the "Medium" or heaven forbid any of the smaller models.
>>
>>2753058
I would gladly take that burden off your shoulders, anon. My tablet broke some time back and I am unfortunately not in a financial position to drop real dosh on a good tablet any time soon.

Well I'll have to do something with it at some point, but I really should make sure it doesn't have any outstanding hardware issues

>>2754255
>4 hotkeys

God damn! That's it? I always assumed they at least had as many as an Intuos. One thing that kind of bewildered me when I started using my 12wx is why I literally paid $1200 to draw on a screen that was half the size of my monitor with really bad colors. Hopefully the color issues have been ironed out anyway.

Well, 12WX has 7 (rightly counting the touch strip as two) on either side but using them all would be pretty awkward. You either have to take your stylus off of the tablet to press the buttons on the opposite end with your dominant hand or reach across your body like Dhalsim-I have to concede I jumped the gun on the 13HD as far as that goes. Assuming that center button on the "rocker ring" changes what the hotkeys represent (kind of like how the touch ring on the Intuos works) it actually might have closer to 20. Not too shabby

or if you have the money to waste and will find enjoyment with using it, get a cintiq. i've had a 13hd for 3 years, i'm just about 'professional' since this past few months (as in making money off my art, getting an audience etc.) but i've never regretted buying a cintiq even when i was shit tier, since it made drawing digitally way more intuitive and fun.

i've been thinking about buying this tablet (xp-pen artist10) since one anon mentioned it in another thread.

how do other brands' graphic tablets compare to wacom tablets? I feel like everyone thinks "wacom is king" and it's kinda hard to shake that mentality sometimes.

>I feel like everyone thinks "wacom is king" and it's kinda hard to shake that mentality sometimes.

I assume most people got burnt with a non wacom tablet years ago and after that there was never a point in buying anything else. At least that's my experience. 10 years ago it was certainly valid at least, but today I couldn't tell since I got no hands on experience. No reason to try anything else and waste money since even the off brand stuff isn't exactly cheap.
>>
>>2758377
>>2759069
Yep, I've gotten burned on non-Wacom tablets. How ever for the last 3+ years I've had Intuos 5 Medium, so I can't say anything about any current cheap tablets.
>>
>>2759069
I think it's more likely that people are vocalizing their brand loyalty in order to help validate their own purchasing decisions in a market where devices competing with Wacom's roster are often a fraction of the price. They don't want to feel like they "got ripped off" so they'll say anything to users inquiring about non-Wacom models to dissuade them, despite the fact they'll have had no experience with non-wacom tablets, or at least not any of the commonly recommended ones.
