I have been looking to get back into drawing recently and have been doing random doodles or drawing from reference. Was wondering if anyone had any advice or tips on how to stay with it or improve!
Image was doodled today, reference was used.

as for the pose it's nothing interesting she is just standing, expression does nothing to help it either. a picture without a story is just a picture.
line work is all over the place, and even though some people will use crossing lines like you did near her feet, id advice against that unless you are really precise and purposeful as to make those lines follow the three dimensional shape of the cloth, and the other lines too. the way you do it kills form.
to get a better line work id advise to learn line precision, as to make lines have same spacing among each other, do not cross accidentally if they are supposed to be parallel.
for pose, just go through gesture drawing books, and draw tons of croquis.
for better crosshatching study people who are better than you, maybe old masters if nothing else in mind. lots of comic artist who do crosshatching do it very similiarly to them.
this was coming from a person who has only been focusing on line drawing and recently focusing on crosshatching mainly. kind of wrote this critique for myself rather than you, i assure you i'm mediocre in drawing.

actually i just seen your blog, you seem to practice line quite much with the design things, you keep doing that your line quality will improve. still, get the purposefulness in your lines when using it for defining shapes.

If you're drawing every day you may as well join LAS (check the catalog for Last Artist Standing)

That image was a from a direct reference, didn't really try to change anything on it. as for the lining, that's why i have been doing the design things, figured it was pry the best way i could go about improving that without just drawing strait lines for pages on end.

I saw that and thought about it but there are several days a month that I go without internet and would not be able to keep it updated.

if you just copy a drawing at least mind the original proportions
