Boards Of Canada makes god drawing music imo. Anything ambiental and unobtrusive is my go to drawing music. I try to listen to music that matches the mood of what I have in mind.

I mostly listen to ambient too, but the choice of the right music is very important.
when I work on a larger project, that spans over days, weeks or even months, I like to listen to some upbeat, ready for action music like this

it's great when you sit down yet again and you feel like the project is going somewhere.

when I do smut commission work, I listen to japanese electronic music.

and generally I try to find fitting music for the art's subject. it helps me get into the right mood.

generally don't listen to any music while animating, it'll mess up the timing.

I tend not to listen to music while thumbnailing or concept sketching or whatever since that requires actual thought. Some light environmental sounds at most.

When rendering or doing animation cleanup or whatever you can listen to what the fuck ever. I tend to listen to podcasts because the less of my mind is occupied on this absolutely menial task the happier I am.

It does influence my work in that if I try to listen to anything while doing what is effectively brainstorming work all the ideas suck or are derivative as fuck.

I know of /mu/, but I am not looking for a place to circlejerk what artist or album or headphones they like. I am looking for a place to discuss the actual process of learning to sing and compose, as well as having a place from where to share songs sheets, something in the same way we have artbook threads here
