Stop drawing from imagination.
Use reference.
Study reference.
>how do I get better at drawing X?
Draw x from imagination a bunch, learn what is is you lack, study reference in order to correct this missing skill, draw from imagination some more, so on and so forth.
Be careful not to photocopy when drawing from reference. Your goal is to understand the subject not to reproduce it.

Those two posts don't actually contradict each other at all though if you read past the first sentence.

I'm studying figure drawing and the first shit people always pull is drawing a big oval where the head is suppose to be. Don't assume the head's view or spot on the body until you know the pose. My beginning drawing courses were basically six months of cow skulls and human skulls. Drawing from a live model or just picture references of faces and heads is ALL the practice you need. It's just tedious.

They're good! I don't know if you're wanting a cartoon style or realistic, but drawing on bigger paper can help with detail. I have two 24"x36" sketch pads for studies and small sketch books for personal drawings.
