Can we have a thread about top-tier examples of line art?
These are good. Wish i could post one myself but i want to see different approaches to line art so bump
Glen Keane to the rescue!
not sure if it qualifies but it definitely is a different approach
>>2692706
ilya kuvshinov
I love shit like this but would probably kill myself if I ever had to draw anything similar.
Is someone going to post a good example or not?
>>2694012
>someone else posting Tradd
You cool, nigga
>no Scott Robertson so far
>>2694019
why don't you, nigga?
>>2693992
Ilya has been known to heavily trace so I wouldn't count it
Does anybody know the pic related artist?
>>2694037
Sweet, artist?
>>2694111
This is a bad example, the wonky lines even make it look like it was copied from something else.
>>2692841
that by definition is not lineart
>>2694127
What a mess.
>>2694121
Lineart definition? Oh please. Not all lineart has to be "trace the sketch" kind of thing. Experiment, you might discover something neat.
What sucks is that we get people thinking complexity of the drawing somehow adds to the lineart. Lineart should be about line quality, line weight control and fluidity, not subject matter.
>>2694136
That was a value block-in with ink
By your logic all paintings are lineart

Are you a retard?
>>2694213
This post is sarcasm for those who can't quite pick up on it, or maybe for those who's first language isn't English.
>>2694219
>>2694221
>sarcastic
>retarded
No, I just know that the true secret of line art is that everything is a line. War is peace, freedom of slavery!
>>2694243
>Expecting people to pick up on sarcasm in plain text.
>>2694213
>posts an ink block in
>calls it lineart
K then
>>2694272
>not sure if realizes I'm agreeing with him or not
>itt literally anime: the thread
>>2694296
you immediately talked about being sarcastic
>>2694335
Wasn't me, I have no idea why >>2694221 would post something like that and then actually post a piece of line art accompanying it. I was being completely sincere. These >>2694136 >>2694174 aren't line art and the people that posted them should be ashamed of themselves.
Question.
When making line art should you even bother with opacity pressure changes with your brush? Generally I just digitally paint everything so line arts pretty irrelevant, but I've been wanting to lineart some stuff and was curious.
A lot of it seems to be a change in size but not opacity of the lineart.
>>2694119
Yeah, the ear is choppy as fuck. Doesn't look like oc
>>2694054
using same pose =/= tracing
tracing is physically placing a layer of the original and copying it.
even i can draw to near perfect accuracy like ilya on some designs.
>>2694885
I guess, though my definition is slightly more broad for it.
>>2694903
>though my definition is slightly more broad for it.
broad=/=true
>>2694951

>>2695643

>>2695652

>>2694221
Sarcasm is tone insinuative you fucking retard, it's much harder to pick up on text let alone a retarded image board
>>2695922
To expand upon this anon's point, as I'd said earlier I wasn't being sarcastic. I have no idea what basis this guy claims I was being sarcastic about calling out non-line art in the line art thread shit nigga goddamn
