I'm assuming he means that if you extended the 'parallel lines' into the horizon, they would never truly meet unless they occupied the same area in space. The fact that there is a vanishing point is simply an approximation. If you were to fire 4 parallel laser beams into the sky, they would look like they converge, but you know that they would meet.
