Hey, im wondering if anybody knows about Calarts?

Is it worth the money? Is the animation program good? are the networking possibilities good?

Im able to afford their steep price but i want to know if the price is actually worth it.
I would also like to know of other good animation schools.
Please dont talk about the job opportunities of an animator, i know its not a "safe" job, but im not asking this to hear that, i want to know if its worth the money and if the community is good.

Any art school will require you to be good at networking and a consistent worker to get anything out of it. Calarts does probably have the best connections in the world though so yes, it will be worth it in that sense.

Consider that people wanting to go to calarts are pretty honest about wanting to be the best in a gruelling profession; they don't have time to act like faggots. Also, just in general, animators seem to be one of the more down-to-earth categories of artists.

I go to csulb, apparently the animation program is good there, I'm doing illustration though. It's also waaaay more affordable then the schools you listed, but in terms of networking you'd be better off at the ones you listed. Art students aren't cunts, but rather awkward and loud or just straight up antisocial. Feelsgoodman

They teach every part of the animation pipeline, not only animation focused. Other schools might have better animation (strictly animation), but if you want to learn everything from visual development, writing, storyboarding, animating, editing, and all that it's a really good program.

Yes.

I don't think that they have time for it. But any school you go there will probably be people so far up their own asshole.

From what I hear yeah. Really tight knit, "Cal-Arts Mafia" and all.

Whatever school you go to, it's what you make of it. When you compare it to other private art schools with similar prices, probably.
