The purpose of an artist is to make an appealing design, not to simply copy an image. It's fine for a study, but it's not art.

Read Harold Speed, Richard Schmid, watch Jeff Watt's stuff, do some master studies. Lines and strokes, forget about this over-rendered soft photo shit.

Maybe I'm just reading your comment wrong but you don't really need any special skills in drawing facial features for copying, just have good observational skills
