what snoot is this
It's cool that we have all these exotic species, but a lot of people still struggle with drawing horses >>2667059. So I'll bump this thread with a few horse references.
One thing you should know about horses is that when a horse lifts its leg off the ground the hoof will NEVER bend towards the ground, in the direction of the horse's front. The hoof continues the motion of the leg and the leg's curve, it helps pushing the horse forward. Even if the horse just raises its leg without moving itself, the hoof will still do this, always. Even when the horse is moving backwards.
Also when a horse raises its front leg the carpus ("the knee") won't stay directly under the elbow joint, the horse will carry it forward.
Finally, it's always good to just know the anatomy.
By the way, please provide information for your refs, not all people can recognize a canine skull >>2667801 or an African Wild Dog >>2665092

Oh, and one more thing. Before the invention of photography a lot of artists drew galloping horses with all their legs outstretched and off the ground. This doesn't happen. Apparently, those "old masters" who observed nature and shit didn't see it and couldn't even analyse a horse's footprints properly. Even Theodore Gericault who studied horses very thoroughly.
