If it is then what if you buy it later after using it?

Yes, you're going to burn in hell.

Let's be honest here, you're not going to buy it anyways.
>>
>>2659688
That's true for me with moves, music and video games because I don't actually give a shit about any of it, I just pirate it because I can and it's easy, but I'm paying for NMA precisely because I couldn't get it for free.

does it matter?

This entire board has been pirating art tutorials for YEARS and not one of these idiots has actually benefited from them.

These anons are little-minded brats who believe they have a library of esoteric art knowledge. They obnoxiously parrot shit they half watched. They say the shit like it's some kind of inside joke. (This is when the dunning-kruger effect really comes into play.)

15 minutes into a Sakimichan video and they think they have the secret to patreon bux!

Really think about this. They have been watching Vilpuu for years. Reading Loomis for years. Probably have stolen everything from Gumroad. And what has any of them accomplished so far?

ABSOLUTELY NOTHING!

Look in a draw thread. Look in a weeb thread. Heck even look in those pathetic LAS or porn threads. You will find a bunch idiots that have only made shitposting their best art. That's it.

Moral of the story. If you're going to steal at least make it worth while. Learn something and try to actually improve.

Well you're half right. I kinda knew about the concept art industry in '08 but never knew you could make a living on art until out of high school in '13 when I found /ic/. Before I just drew to hang on moms fridge. Fiddled around a few tuts in 13 because wow concept art, wow industrial design, wow you can actually make a living with porn? Wow wow. It wasn't until last year I actually tried drawing, with this year being my best.

2 years from now and I'll be just fine. 1 year if I can manage to leave this place but I don't see that happening. /storyofmylife

That's not going to happen.
>>
>>2660054
This. I bet you could count the number of users that have remained on this board for four years or more on one hand.

That said, I don't pirate shit and don't think anyone that believes that art should have value should promote piracy culture either. There's tons of dead guys whose material is every artist's "inheritance", but piracy from NMA and things like that is pretty bogus.

It will, but in the off chance I lose my hand due to aids replying to you over the years I can live the rest of my days in the country on my parents land I'll inherit and sell corn.

>Is it immoral to do X?
Does doing X hurt someone? If not, it's fine.

Oversimplifying here, but seriously, theft and piracy are not the same thing.
>>
>>2659679
schoolism's video player is so shitty you might as well just pirate. i haven't been able to get through a single lesson without it crashing at least once

Encouraging people to pirate an artists' content just because they can is like discouraging people from putting money in a street musician's tip jar because they're getting the music for free anyway.

Piracy "isn't the same thing as theft" no, but that doesn't make it good, and it's dubious enough without going out of your way to try and stop people from paying if they otherwise could or would.

>inb4 'I wouldn't have bought it anyway'

If you're from a third world country in which any of this content or these services cost several times more than they would where their local market is due to currency exchange rates this is understandable. If you aren't from a third world country though this is a meaningless statement when it's said from the position of someone that can get whatever it is for free and has no qualms about doing so.

Don't get me wrong, I don't support every IP law ever, I think a lot of them are stupid as shit, in fact. I can't truthfully shame somebody too much for taking something that's otherwise freely available because why wouldn't they. I just feel that as hopeful artists in particular we should embrace the culture of exchanging money for art-related content especially.
