I recently got into some financial issues (college student, what else is new) and have been trying to sell some of my artwork to maybe gain some sort of extra income. I was wondering what would the best way of advertising be? I've tried a few different websites and so far not much has been in my favor. Any advice is valued. I've sold 2 pieces in a 1 year period.
(also if you would like, include an image of your favorite album cover)
Have you tried hooking?

You don't have any other skills. So why not?

I'm struggling too.Honestly unless you've got a decent following getting a good amount of commissions is tough.
I'd just say sign up for as much sites s possible and be as active as possible. you might get lucky and one of your paintings might get popular, that kick started a lot of artists i know.

Not op, but let's talk about advertising on other sites. Which sites specifically are decent for advertising work?
I've heard a lot of people say reddit but they never mention which subreddits in particular.
Also, is it impossible to get noticed on DA now?

That's because you're supposed to hit all of them.

If you're pursuing collectors, get into a local art fair or art crawl. It doesn't hurt to have some substantial pieces with a four figure price tag, but a lot of artists I know make dependable money from prints, post card, and other smaller objects (basically having a few tiers of goods for sale, so more people can buy your work).
I don't know if anyone's told you yet, but selling fine art isn't exactly a route to fast cash.
