werd.cool stuff guys. I'm making a card game, been smashing little speed paintings out all day, since art is not really the main focus, they're no more than 2 hours each, plus there's going to be around 200 cards.

The crystal is on the same tangent as the cave opening. Move the stick so the crystal is in the dark area in the top left. Next make that part of the cave wall the darkest area of the image.
Check your light source, where would the shadows really be. Don't be afraid of them. They'll probably make your character more interesting and believable.
You can let that crystal be a secondary light source, either reflecting/refracting the outside light, or with its own glow, to give a neat side light giving your character more depth.
The arms and hands have odd proportions, kinda miniaturized, but that will come with practice.

i haven't digitally painted in just short of a year so i'm trying to get back into it, it's not supposed to be any special piece. just a portrait of how i think diana prince would look in the 1920s glamour scene. i'm going to draw a top (so her bust will definitely be fixed), i'm just not sure if it should be her breast plate or a slinky dress.
>>2652731
That mimic and some thumbnails for a character design. Just been switching back and froth between the two. This will probably be my last traditional drawing for awhile, since I recently got a tablet and wanna move into digital art.

>>2652881

your perspective is absolutely fucked man lol. where is your vanishing point? where is our center of vision supposed to be.
>>2653804
i honestly figured that it might be, lol. i did a quick grid to help with figuring that stuff out, but despite learning about perspective at one point, i have never quite figured out how to apply it...
No.

i really like it and kinda can see it finished, don't give up on that

Looking neat, keep it up
just tweak the pole in the bottom right, it seems a little off
the rest is really okay
sorry for bad english, im just italian
>>2653814
then you didn't really learn then anon. i advise determining if you want you picture in one point, 2 point or 3 point perspective. so you can better setup your perspective.
my example is in 1 point for simplicity. Anything above the center of vision you see the bottom of. anything below you see the top. Simple.
I circled the 2 squares at the top, compared to the top of her chair you should not be able to see the tops of those like they currently are.
applying perspective to the human body is simple enough. Break the body down into shapes and put them in perspective like you would a cube
>>2653860
>Break the body down into shapes and put them in perspective like you would a cube.
Not him, but how do you go on this? Loomis' method is overly complicated and doesn't really allows dynamic posing.
>>2653865
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=EiRFoqX9_Fk
this KJG might be of some interest. he shows building in shapes then goes over with detail.
picture is from Krenz, showing the general shapes and where they point in perspective.
>>2653870
so based on what sides of the cube you see you can get a general idea of where the center of vision/horizon line is at.
If you can, pick up a copy of perspective made easy. it lays things out very nicely before you get into more complicated perspective.
>>2653860
thanks a lot for the direction! i really appreciate it. the center of vision tip is gonna save my life.
>>2653881

anyone have any idea where i can get a reference for this pose? i just want the guy pulling his sword out and his arm to obstruct the hat/face and be more in the foreground. i tried using a mirror but either im a fat fuck with retard scoliosis or its just not a practical way for pulling out a sword
>>2654933
That is impractical. Why would your elbow ever go into your face when drawing a blade? It looks cool though, so keep at it anyways.
>>2654936
i dunno i just wanted that effect real bad but not at the cost of it looking too awkward. thinking maybe he could be drawing his blade up instead of out? for the drawings sake

He's off balance (falling backwards). The weight of the hammer too is not well supported, he should probably be resting it on his shoulder in that pose. >>2674598
Clown looks out of place since the lights are all just overexposed and there's a white background. None of the others are like that. Grunt's face looks cartoonier than the rest too. Otherwise they look stylistically similar enough.
>>2674602
Okay. I can agree. Some of my reference pics had bad res.

>>2674610
Damn. It's like your exposing my inner sub conscience. Anon right again. Gonna scrap those ones.

I've always been prone to using way too vibrant of colors, so I went in after the fact and desaturated that image a lot (though I did work in pure greyscale on the snow, so that doesn't really have too much to do with your point I guess.)
If I can ask, what's wrong with the posture? I am fully aware the scale/perspective is off, since I drew the girl and foreground separately and their not particularly at the same angle.

You just answered your own question my friend.
The character is honestly alright. It works with the style. I would only suggest you give her a scarf, it will add more motion to the character and it will compliment the snow flakes falling, that suggest there is wind.
