I like sketching and doodling and sometimes i'll even do some flat color with a cleaner sketch layer but i just don't have the patience for a full render unless it's for class or i'm getting paid for it.

I want to try to finish a picture at least once a week (Meaning make it at least where i'd feel happy presenting it to friends and family to see) rather than just messy sketches.

Honestly, how do you "finish" a piece of work?

I want to start creating actual pieces, yet I always stop after creating a composition, refined drawing, or even reference gathering.
I don't know how to exactly stay motivated during each part of the process. It's not that I dread it rather I somehow get in my own way. Like I'll tell myself "that looks very mediocre," yet I don't have the skill to correct the problem...so the project never gets finished.

My eye is higher than my skill atm and I'm struggling to push through this plateau. Sorry for the blog post, but if anyone has advice I'd love to hear it.

I have this thing where I force myself to keep working on the picture even if I don't have a solid idea on how I want it to look. It's either that or eternal 'still workin on it'. I can't just take a break and then return to it a couple of days later, I get distracted by something else in the meantime, always
It's rough, wish I had more multi-track mind so I could work on few different pieces at the same time
