Yes, I'm retarded.
I can't figure out how to use the brushes you see everyone an their mom use in Krita, Clip Studio Paint, Sai, etc.
By which I mean the "blending" brushes, like the watercolor ones that kinda mix the ground color with the color you're using.
How do I use them and not make the thing look like shit? What strokes do I use?
pic is random google result

Should watch FZD, guy blends without any special brushes.

How is that special to Feng? Literally everyone does that. I do that.
I'm asking how to use a tool I don't understand.
>>2634700
use the fucking colour picker you swine.
>>2637317
Color picking fucks up your saturation tho
>>2637329
wait, I've noticed this
can you fill me in? why does my color picker keep resetting its position a little to the left?
Posting for self interest (I.E. I'm a fucking idiot too)
Alright I kind of suck at explaining but:
>Start with the shape you want and hit the transparency lock button (circled) to get nice edges
>Block out the colours you're gonna use
>Push the paint around with the oil paint tool until it looks kind of like this
>Get out smooth watercolour if you want it smooth
Transparent watercolour doesnt blend very easily for some reason, it has other uses but I can't explain them very well. English is my first language I'm just stupid. Most of this for me is just getting a feeling for what the amount/density of paint settings do and messing around with it.

Thanks, but what do you mean by "poke the edges"?

Blending brushes take the colour from where you start the stroke and pull it around a little. If you make kinda zigzag motions like this you can pull part of colour a into colour b and end up with something in the middle. Alternatively you can just run a wide brush down the join between colours. How much colour gets pushed around and how far it goes is down to some arcane brush settings that are worth messing with (density, amount & pickup).

Shit, I never thought of that kind of stroke, thanks
