The figures are from "Drawing the Living Figure" by Joseph Sheppard, which as you've probably figured is an English book, the Japanese text is just a translation.

It's a book detailing surface anatomy and how muscle and bone influence skin. I actually have it and it is in fact a terrific resource, I always come back to it for reference. Unfortunately my copy is in tatters from years of use but you could probably google a pdf.
