>He doesn't know you need to have the spark

Not. Gonna. Make it.
>>
>>2622623
There's no spark it's just about pushing yourself to do it.

I'm assuming you wanna do more imaginative work so I'll tell you the easiest way- write down an idea, give it a few sentences to describe it at least, and then use google/tumblr/pinterest to find reference for it, then start ideating and using that reference. If you're doing an enviro start with thumbs, if you're doing a character do silhouette designs, if you're posing then do the gesture. There's really no one way to do it either, these are just ways to do it and the ways I've found easiest. From there you'll start to build your visual library (also studies can help build it as well). It's probably not gonna look perfect and that's fine, you just need to keep at it. Then on the side you wanna learn stuff obviously, utilize your resources and practice whats in there.

Your imagination stems from real life, and how everything in real life works mechanically, socially, mentally, physically etc.

I drew Pokemon when I was 5, im 22 now, literal monsters that lived in their own world (which is just basically ours) and operated on their own biological laws.

A rat that shoots lightning, based around a Japanese onomatopoeia, based off of a real rodent, the pika. Naturally, rats are small and not very strong; but there's like 700+ more Pokemon that have their own story and laws to tell and follow.

go watch How Its Made and draw dank-ass monsters with their own biological limitations. if you dont like learning about random shit, it'll be that much harder to understand your imagination's possibilities

I suffered the same problem OP, I became really depressed for a few years and it felt like my ability to imagine or be creative disappeared as a result. I found that having things to inspire you is a big motivator in getting the creative juices flowing. Ever watch, read or play something that just makes you think about the characters/story in your spare time, think of scenes or interactions over and over? Then you start thinking of your own ideas/scenarios? You need to find something like that to help you relearn the process.
>>
>>2622629
I forgot to mention- Ask questions. It starts as simple as a word, like "person" or "area". What kind of person? Well maybe it's a woman. What's her job? What time era does she live in? Does she have magical powers? Is she nerdy? What kind of area? What's the time era of the place? Is it war-torn? Is it a depiction of hell?

^ Fucking this.

My own advice would be to tell a story or convey a message, it's the best way to stand out. Draw people doing something, holding or wearing something that gives us a hint of who they are as people.

You can also come up with an idea (motherly love, war hurts farmers, money is overrated, cities are crowded, people worry too much...) and build around it.

Another thing is the joke. There's anticipation and a twist to it, use them in your favor. Fierce bunny hunting a wolf, overly mature child, priest playing in a rock band or evil demon who likes poetry... Contrast is an interesting tool to play with.

And just to elaborate a little more this because I think it helps- people don't just make shit up off the top of their head. I've talked to artists that get a good chunk of freelance or are working in the industry and, especially for enviros, a good chunk of the work goes into simply writing up an idea and gathering reference. If you see somebody winging it on a video they probably have reference on another monitor or have done so many concepts they've built up a strong visual library and can draw from that (you can usually tell anyway, they'll stick to simple stuff and focus more on shape). I don't know anybody that's gifted with some amazing imagination, everybody's got it. It just seems the best way is to, like I said, ask questions and reference life and other art. Don't be afraid to "cheat" while you're learning, heavily borrow from other artists, learn how they do thumbs or enviros or people, etc. There's no reason to reinvent the wheel, save yourself some time and just learn and reference.
>>
>>2622613
Every ones brain thinks about different stuff based off the experiences they've had.

Saying "improve" it is stupid because you aren't speaking in context of what? Some people have shit music experience so they can't think of good songs but can come up with really interesting forest for example.

So like anything, just expose yourself to what you want to improve in and practice. Soon you will realize all the amazing creative stuff you see is just derivative and nobody is really creative in the magical sense and everything is iterative.
>>
Smoke some marijuana. Not even kidding. Then immerse yourself in the artwork you want to emulate, and do studies of it (copy it with your own hands). You'll build a visual library of those things, and muscle memory to put it on paper (or screen, as you like it).

Never worked for me personally, just fucks up my sense of perspective.
>>
>>2623171
This is terrible advice. Imagination, also known as creativity, is what humanity has grown to possess in order to solve unique problems. Anything that takes away stress takes away creativity by default.

Study anatomy

Personally what I do is just lurk /tg/, look at high fashion, movies, historical archives, toys, animu, mango, music videos, product design, architecture, and other artists' shit.

Basically just look at shit to see shit in your head, and don't restrict yourself to one subject matter or medium. That gives me ideas when I need concepts, just look at shit.
>>
>>2623171
No. This shit ruins your motivation and creativity, plus it makes you lazy as fuck. Awful advice.

In boredom there is nothing
In nothing there is something
In something is release
In release there is escape
In escape your chains are broken

In other words just let your mind wander in boredom and daydreaming until you find something you like.

paint what you like , don't worry about trivial things like imagination. If you're good at what you do , people will acknowledge it regardless of the subject matter.

Studying and interpreting modern art could help.

Can't imagine shit when you lack the realistic fundamentals that fantasy stems from.

Do studies about diverse subjects, and you'll be able to visualize how they work so you can effectively warp them with a spin of yours in a way that does not destroy the whole thing.

Im enjoy drawing very much and i try to improve but i dont feel satisfied with the things i do...¿any advice or motivation tips?
>>

Yes you can, you aren't born with imagination, if you just look at and like the same thing you can't expect to come out with something different, exactly like you can't make an iron chair with just wood. Start reading, looking, doing and listening to different things, eventually you will start understanding what you really love while forming a complex and variegated group of references

Difficulty imagining things often stems from having a small mental library. Draw and sketch a lot from life and from reference and your library will grow.

There are exercises you can do to help you improve too. Try finding a daily prompt website, and then imagining an interesting visual solution every single day, even if you don't draw it. Alternatively just pick two random words and combine them. The trick is to *keep going past the first idea you come up with*. Jumping into a solution too quickly tends to lead to derivative ideas. Often thinking a little harder will turn a good idea into a great one, or leads you to combine two ideas into one really strong concept.

Check out Edward de Bono's books on creativity and lateral thinking. Take them with a grain of salt, they're just one guy's idea of creativity, but they might be helpful.

Expand your horizons. If all you read is manga, try going to a goddamn library or something. A lot of great ideas come from introducing established idea into a new medium.

Good luck OP

I believe it's all about the obsession and surrounding yourself in it m8, just watch movies everyday and have intresting convos with people about strange ideas. Look at dat criag mullins or aron wiesenfeld or expose yourself to sum Ruan jia and even a lil tintsy bit of the jeremys. Don't be afraid to mash the most random things as well, ex. A deceased kid in a batman costume with a box of tide on a bench(aron w piece). Or even with film really dive into how random some films actually are. It's all about the immersion.
