That is my shot on the niagara waterfall, a bit alternatised.
I used a small canvas , with tempera paint.
I'm a beginner, so I ask your aid.
How does one make a proper waterfall?
Any constructive criticism is appreciated
bump
there is my first canvas painting
I like blue ish colours
I also want to ask, how to mix vivid colours?
I feel that my paintings colours are stuck in mediocrity.
Sorry for making the photos with a potato

I like them, has a quality to them. but do you use photos, cause the skies are curved as if wide angle lens photo ref was used. read "alla prima" which you can find in the books thread.
waterfalls and moving shapes is taught as identifying the shapes which occur in the object and doing them with soft edges to imply movement. read the damn book lol.

Thank you
Actually yeah I use photos, but in the waterfall pic, I just did it automatically because originally the sky on the photo was yellowish pinkish at some part, I did it like that because it gives a sense of reality, sort of vivid vibe in my opinion
I'll read that book lol
Happy little blots and things with slightly airy brush blues and whites and grays are probably best
