not necessarily when its done but rather how many times its re done. the first drawing carries all the personality because it was made from the ground up where as the second is just an analysis of the first so the spirit is gone.

Most art at any point in time sucks. Only some of it is good and memorable. The memorable stuff gets remade, again with the same odds of sucking, so only some of it measures up to the original.

The shitty art won't get remembered for the most part.

Really, Gen 5 was when everything went from "seriously and determined" to "happy and generic chimpmunk smile for all the girl characters, even in their remakes, it just looks bad and Pokemon began looking nothing like "animalistic monsters" and now look like fucking rubber duck toys.

The only thing you can keep in mind is the fact that basic rules of ascetic rule the art world. When making the skills of the artist completely level, obviously at a professional level, the only. Change should be in slight cultural changes, so far this has only happened a few times sence humans walk the earth. These huge changes are the only ones worth mentioning, the rest are simply banal

From all the things to criticize like the use of colors that don't contrast and don't blend well in the characters, the over-designing of others, or designs that don't resemble their type, you had to go for "they are not as bad-ass",
Go back to rob-liefeld or watch blade. Edgy/happy/whatever tone their are going for =/= quality.
