Description:
The new challenge is to design an anthropomorphic tribal warrior. You will choose an existing real world animal, combine it with a human figure, and design what this would look like if that character was part of a primitive tribe of warriors. Keep in mind the type of environment the animal comes from and try to fit that into the characters design, costume, and weapon. For example, if the animal you choose is from the jungle then it's costume and weapon may be quite different than an animal from the African savanna or snowy mountains. Use the animal and it's region to influence what the design will be.

As always, this challenge is intended to inspire you to push yourself to learn and grow as an artist, as well as to give you fuel to create something you might later polish into a finished product. Whether your creation is a loose sketche or a portfolio-ready piece is up to you. Do what is most helpful or enjoyable for you!

Rules and Guidelines:
-This a tribal character/creature challenge where your combining any animal with a human and using the animals geographic region to influence the costume and design..
-Approach it as if you were designing this for a video game or film.
-Any medium is allowed.

I feel like the arms are too short...but that may be because he doesn't have an actual human head to refer to. Actually looking at it now, the hands aren't big enough. And there's no wrist on the left hand (his right hand), Fix the hands and then you can decide whether or not the arms are too short either.

Design wise, I would love to see more bird elements incorporated into the actual skeleton/skin features rather than just replacing the head.
Maybe feathers on his arms, or claw feet or something.

Yours is the later. You need to first understand anatomy and how it works to toy around with it. Pic is a good example, and I would recommend to you to search slenderman or carnage or other symbiote characters, since I feel it would fit the style you are going for.

This is very generic. The first thing that comes to mind when thinking of a prompt like this with nothing pushing the boundaries. Staff is plain, clothes are plain, items/ gear is plain. Nothing stands out and nothing tells more of a story than just a tribal dude with a lion head. Think about story telling. If this was really a tribal warrior, you think they would play more with hairstyles, tribal markings, or piercings. If this was for a movie or game, I would like to see a more interesting staff or an item that shows a little thought about the culture it came from. Be creative and tell the story of your culture through your designs, not telling the bare minimum when trying to convey "tribal." Nice sketch though m8, keep it up.
