What is the age where most artists start to get gud? 15-17? Or is it in their 20s?

when they die
>>
>>2506898
Entirely reliant on when they start, how much of a natural disposition they have, and how hard they study.

But if you want a number pulled from my ass, I'd say 20~25?
>>
>>2506898
40-50

from what i've seen, they seem to find their voice at around 30, and get their technical ability around 20-25. most artists start getting serious around 18-20 since they have to find where they're going in life.

but if you start later, remember you can get the technical abilities and start profiting off your art this year if you put in enough time and focused effort studying.

from what i've seen the best artists in history started at 16 and lower.
>>
>>2506898
I feel it's easier to learn art specifically from 18 onwards
>>

pic not related, right?
>>
The time when they actually work and don't make threads about how good they are.
>>
>>2506898
Some don't. Some do. Age means very little for technical skill. Usually it takes some years for that. Interesting, creative work usually corresponds with an interesting life. That also takes as long as it takes. Anyone giving you an actual numerical answer is full of shit. Stop obsessing over stupid shit like this. Live your life and make some art. Or don't.
>>
>>2506898
You get gud by practicing every day, constantly pushing yourself to learn things while drawing shitty drawing after shitty drawing, not by reaching a certain age. It all depends on how you approach practice, how good you are at understanding the concepts and applying them in practice and how much you spend drawing each day.

Some people are born gud. Stop comparing yourself to others and focus on your own progress faggit.

Picasso painted this when he was 14. He learned everything he could in classical painting before he was over 20 and then started exploring new horizons.
>>
>>2507227
Sorry, pic related. It's Egon Schiele's work at 17.
>>
if they start around 10-13 and train properly, they usually hit mastery around 23
>>
>>2506898

There isn't some magic switch in your brain that flips on.

Art is one part memorization (get some flash cards), one part muscle memory (get a sketch book and draw when you're bored or have an idea but you're not in front of a computer) and one part taste (expand your appreciation for other artists so you can learn techniques and understand their work better)

Seriously, if you don't try to have any of those, you'll never git gud.
>>
>>2507417
>flash cards
wat
>>
>>2506898
When they stop having shit taste in woman.
Damn it OP, why would you post that?
>>
>>2507039

thank goodness you don't have to be one of the best artists in history to:

have fun

make money

get laid
>>
>>2507433
>wanting this suburban shit
>not wanting to be a tragic prodigy artist who lived and burned in the flames of art
GTFO normie.
>>
>>2507430

Flash cards was how I memorized proportions (humans, tigers, dogs, elephants, a few other animals), anatomy, color theory and color relationships, and a few other things.

It was probably most effective with proportions and anatomy, since I first made cards for muscle masses, and on the back, I broke down the masses into separate muscles, broke down their proportions in relation to the body parts they were attached too, and what the look like at different angles.

>Flash cards was how I memorized proportions

As opposed to actually practicing? That's one of the worst ways I've ever heard of learning art. Fucking hell anon, you're drawing and painting not studying medicine.

How did one become an artist in ye olden days anyway? Did someone just find that they were gifted at a young age and have their education sponsored by rich people?

i started taking art seriously around 13. unlike the rest of you degenerates i never wasted my time drawing anime
>>
>>2507514
Sometimes yes. Other times their parents would pay for private tutoring. Or if an artist had a son they would teach them art from a young age. When people got older they would either apprentice under a master or go to an atelier or academy to learn.
>>
>>2507459
post work you faggot

theyre fucking fat slobs. Stop enabling them.

General profile for creatin'-ass niggas:

Suck - 0-3 years

Suck with style - 3-5 years

Kickin rad - 5+ years
>>
>>2507321

Picasso likely had about 7-9 years of painting experience by the time he made that. Good showing but not really all that remarkable.
