i actually started doing art by using loomis , and i use his methods of construction and stuff, its just that everything in my sketchbook is done with speed and as little guide line as possible in mind unless im doing something specific, the slower i work the better i can make it look. those were just average pages. of random speed pose sketching and experiment.

also i like to work from imagination primarily. i know your not suppose to but i just like to . i do studies though because your suppose to .

I hate it when people obviously have one "sketchbook" just for filling it and showing around.

I mean, it doesn't even look like one, careful drawings fill whole page instead of shit being all around with splashes of color here and there for studies and some stupid shit like farting whale or helicopter mangusta in the corner because your mind was dicks back then due to mental block or tiredness.

I wouldn't say anything if it would be any good, but obviously "sketchbook" is thrown there because when called that shit is bad/no construction there or anything a faggot can safely retreat "haha, yeah, I know, those are just sketches, I was doodling around, nothing serious" when obviously he spend time on that bad shit.

the wip looks like it doesnt have as much detail as the sketch the pencil tone makes it have better values which arent captured in the digital wip, i would say add more values and variatoin. dunno if thats what you were talking about or not. have you tried flipping the image to check the balance in reverse? *flips image around* ok in the digital version it looks like the face is kinda curved also the hood lines up with it creating a tangency , that doesnt happen in the sketch because its not present or the details differentiate it more.

Does digital sketching count?

I spent a couple hours messing with environment ideas, trying to go with fantasy-ish themes since I don't experiment with fantasy a lot.

These are super rough, but if you can mage to somewhat read them, which ones (if any) do you think would be interesting to expand on?

I know perspective is off in a few of them, that's something I usually tend to worry about after thumbnails.

Yeah, I figured it's just a different regional branding.

Of all the traditional ballpoints I've collected I prefer Zebra 0.7mm (like the F-301) if anyone cares. The ink is fairly black and flows at the right rate, and the refills have wax caps and dates printed on them.
