It's pretty cool anon

Can't say I've ever dabbled on this field but it seems very interesting.

Caligraphy is a high art. There are far more master painters in the world than master caligraphers. Also it's one of those things I doubt most of /ic/ cares about because of how easily a skill it is replaced just with typesetting in an image editor (if only the same could be said of rendering).

I think your writing is nice though.

Also /ic/ doesn't move so fast outside of its eternal threads so don't expect to get too many replies in the first 20 minutes of a thread's lie

thanks for your feed back, and im new to /ic/ so thanks for making that clear haha...

well i already got to go now, but i think i will open another thread in the next days, i would also like to take requests for practising new words...

and yes, there are propably much more painters than calligraphers, but in the middle and far east its a highly respected form of art.

have a nice day guys

Hey, because it's calligraphy thread:

Scott Robertson in one of his videos said that what helped him much if it comes to proportions and being precise were his classes dedicated to inking alphabet.

My question is - how do you even start? Where can you find something about geometric construction of fonts and letters? Do you do those exercises with equipment like rulers and compass, or you have to do those freehand?

Put more attention into parallel lines being more parallel. This is one of the hardest things in calligraphy imo, I still have struggles with it. Drawing faint pencil lines helps a lot.

This would get more replies in /gd/, though.

There are some graffiti writers that make caligraphic styles a main component of their work.
