But seriously, anyone who's spent any time online, knows it's true. I've seen very few female artists who draw traditionally masculine men. I'm not saying they don't exist, but they seem to be a tiny minority. /ic/ is also a good example.

I believe this to be partially true, as both sexes are guilty of this. Both men and women only draw the body they are attracted to. however both have their exceptions. I believe the male form to be much more complicated, as it shows what's below the skin a lot more than women, therefore usually being tougher to draw in my opinion. It requires a lot of knowledge of anatomy.

Female artists rarely focus on men's masculine qualities, and instead focus on a strange mixture of masculine and feminine features, which usually result in characters that look like stereotypical, effeminate homosexuals.

Except those aren't masculine features, which was my original point. I also disagree about it being "aesthetically pleasing". In the same way that a burly man with red lipstick will look off-putting and unsettling to most people, so will an effeminate man. That's usually the case when something goes so fundamentally against it's inherent nature. I'm aware that it's subjective, but it still annoys me, because it's so deeply rooted in my perception of the world.

In my eyes, the idealized representation of men and women can be found in the old Roman, Greek and Renaissance statues. The men are portrayed as physically fit and muscular with a clear expression of emotion, often representing strength, dignity, depth, authority or internal struggle.
The women are portrayed as pure, graceful and caring. Some of them portray a kind of naive, innocent beauty, while others portray a divine, protective, pure maternal figure, like Venus or Saint Mary.

I believe there are some things male figures can portray that female figures can't portray, and vice versa, so both are fascinating to me. That being said, I admit I draw far more women than men, because I'm a dirty little horndog.
