I'm using the wacom tablet for the first time in maybe years and I'm having a hard time getting things to look good. What are some good practices to get back into not looking at your hands for sketching and inking?
>>
Consider it like an assisted blind contour exercise. You'll start getting really familiar with what hand motions create what kind of line and eventually it will be second nature.

In the meantime, try zooming in (800-100%). Stabilizers can help too, but personally, setting it too high might hurt more than help due to the lag. You don't want those stabilizers to become a crutch

Lines, ellipses, cubes in perspective, pretty much anything.

You just have to bite the bullet and draw, Anon; The more you do the faster you'll get used to it.

I can't be the only who hates this tablet, I prefer the old bamboo better

No one really talks about configuring it once its installed. My best advice would to shut off all the bells and whistles and set the tablet to force proportion. and of course practice goes along way. Im on a old ass computer OP no excuses.

Never owned another tablet other than OP's pic. What do you hate about it?

Not exactly what OP asked for, since he requested exercises for training hand-eye coordination on a regular tablet, not a Cintiq.

OP, what I found to be the best exercises is to collect some inked drawings by other artists and practice tracing them. Focus on speed more then complete accuracy. I quite quickly got in to it by doing this in between sketching original doodles.

OP here, yea I was doing that and I wasn't sure if that was an effective way to doing things. But I'll give it a shot.
