It's mediocre, it could use more shading and lighting especially the monicle.

It's not very good. The handling of the paint looks very poor(something made harder by working on canvas, of all things), and the forms aren't well defined. It looks like it a painting by someone who's relatively inexperienced.

You would be surprised what people will pay for, and what art is used in children's books/materials for reference check out Eric Carle, Liza Frank, and even the Louis Wain thread for subject focused art.
My tip to you would be to hone in on foxes or steam punk animals as your primary subject matter, and over time you will improve. Everyone has a different style and subject matter. If you want your art to look more realistic then you really need to focus on perspective for awhile to gauge shapes, shading, softening hard lines, etc. It just requires practice.
