I never needed Loomis or /ic/ to push me forward. I had/have my favorite artists with my goal of drawing as well as them, that's enough. You'll never get trapped into some tumblr bullshit if you keep comparing yourself with great artists. I already had people telling me my drawings were nice back then when my level was really low.

Boo! Naturalistic! Boo!" and doesn't fetch even close to the same amount of dosh as straight Modernism.

I actually love pics like this. It's so bad, but they took so much time to work on it and were probably really proud of it. Most cringey/shitty pieces done by babs is just cringey, but sometimes it hits a special cord where it becomes endearing instead. Oh artists, all so terrible and still they try really hard. Breaking anatomy can serve a composition far better than being perfectly correct.
Ever see those animu pictures where the girls have completely curved shins? It looks better that way than being correct because of how the image flows.
Perfection in anatomy is good to know and be able to do, but it is not a necessity to a good drawing and often times makes them look stiff.
