Honestly I don't think I'm that good at colors.I mostly mess around with adjustments and blending modes until it looks decent.I guess it all comes down to the values.If your values are good your colors should be good as well.

If you was a educated nigga, you'd realize the bottleneck of attention-whoring on reblog-type sites like tumblr, starts with people relegating the exposure of their friends to a backwater blog that nobody will ever look at. You've effectively negated the social aspect of the site by walling yourself off.

At that point, you may as well be reblogging people into the toilet, because you obviously don't want them to have any of your exposure.

Of course I don't ever lose followers because I'm extremely witty, and my hip street style keeps people entertained even when I reblog dumb political shit and pictures of gross buttholes.

I'm just using the site as it was probably intended.

Well what do you mean just stumble across? If you draw lots with the tag "art" and whatever you'll get plenty of people who stumble across your stuff.
If someone looks up "Medieval art" or "fantasy art" or "x fandom art" they can stumble across you. I find plenty of art blogs this way.

If you mean from outside tumblr, how is having your own website any more likely to be 'stumbled across'? It's less likely. People need to know it exists to find it.

If an artist doesn't want or need a following then it's redundant. Lots of good professional artists are already beyond the necessity of getting a following for stuff like commission works.

Well you can do what you like, but since you're spouting all this shit about "using the site as it was intended" and suggesting I need to educate myself I'll address it anyway.

Looking at your notes it doesn't seem to make you any big difference in terms of exposure, perhaps your follower count says something different but I don't know that. And I'm not trying to say I'm better than you because I'm not, I'm just approaching it as a educated nigga.

Not reblogging as a producer of content doesn't inherently bottleneck tumblr. There are big tumblr blogs that get big by basically searching out what fits their niche and posting it. And there are fucktons of 'general interest' blogs where people reblog whatever the hell they want, and that's the purpose of it. Having a blog specialized towards what you produce isn't ruining the website. You're creating things for other blogs to circulate, if it fits their subject matter.

If you mix both a blog as a producer of content and one who regurgitates stuff, half the time you'll miss out on followers who want your content, because they don't want all your other garbage clogging up their dash. I'm not talking about you losing followers you already have from it, I'm talking about people not following in the first place. I don't see a problem with occasionally reblogging a friend's stuff for their benefit, it's just when your stuff is buried in all the other shit.

Anyway if you're content with the way you're doing it that's fine, just saying. Speaking for myself I know that if you just posted your art I'd follow, because I like it, but I won't because of the other shit. I'm sure I'm not alone in that regard.
