Literally as bad as liking anime.
Let's play a game popular in /tg/.
Draw the line when it rustles your jimmies:
>Draws fanart
>Draws only fanart
>Draws only fanart of mainstream IPs
>Draws only fanart of the most popular characters in mainstream IPs
>Draws only fanart of the most popular female characters in mainstream IPs
>Draws only fanart of the most popular female characters in mainstream IPs, monetizes it on patreon

>Traces fanart portraits with manga influences, of the most popular female characters of mainstream IPs, monetizes it on patreon and posts it on several subreddits for upvotes.

Cough*illastrat*cough
>wants to be an illustrator
>personal art blog is full of reblogs from better artists
>only personal works are studies from their year-long stint at art school
>>2342655
The only ones that bother me are the second and the last one. The others just know their market.
>>2342665
who is illastrat?
>>2342655
If he/she actually makes some money with patreon it's not that bad. Its bad when the art is bad, and the artist is delusional.

>justify it by saying "its my style" or "my take on _____"
>>2342655
What's worse than all of those is the artists making fan art of 90's shows but makes all of the characters /fa/ with no personality or individuality beyond their hair style and colors that let you know this is supposed to be ____ it is too bland to like even if the art is good.
I used to love fanart, but the past 2 years it's all changed so much that it's become something on its own... what the fuck happened. Fan artists are becoming a thing with their own sub stereotypes.

A nigger who posts his shitty art here.
>wants to be a painter
>only paints nude girls
(this is me)
>>2348088
That's actually nice. You could get yourself a model that will pose for you and you'll fuck her like a wild rabbit in the middle of everything.

Is it bad that I only want to learn art so I can create a video game?
>>2348107
depends
are you making an actual videogame with videogame things or a click-to-advance visual nobbel
>>2348122
I want to create a Hidden Object game.
>wants to git gud
>can't into realism
>believes everything is its own style
>idolizes tumblr and big-name artists of today
>because they don't know any other artists
>because they don't actually look at art
>drills exercises without any tangible purpose or intent
>doesn't really seem to know where their art's going or where it's gonna be
>"I'm-a git gud and make it"
I can't fucking stand people that don't think and draw at the same time.

Well I've been building this fantasy world for fun and my dream is have an mmo in that world. In order to build up to that I want to create a bunch of games that are within that setting. Maybe I should try to get good at drawing stylized cartoony shit, seems like it would be most feasible to produce that kind of art for a one man project.
>>2342655
>fanart
Still think it's funny that this bothers people.
Not to say that it shouldn't, but somehow, I don't think most people that dislike it realize why they should, especially when so many are utterly convinced that they know exactly why.
>wears square-frame glasses and skinny jeans
>uses mechanical pencils and ink pens
>has ear lobe gauges and tattoos of symbols
>posts drawings with prissy Instagram filters, DoF, aging etc
>drawings are always full of symbols

>he spends most of his time talking down other people for what they like, what they want or what they do
