I think this one was probably one of my favorites I did this year. I don't really care too much for the picture it's self, but I learned a lot from working on it. I wan to make more pictures similar to this, but with better understanding of composition/story telling. Plus, it was amazingly fun just adding figures interacting with each other.

I enjoyed this one the most. My reasons are the following: The composition was simple and yet had a good hirachy of focals points. And with my predisposition for serene wildlife I was happy with how this came to be a serene wildlife. Also I really liked the use of low opacity brush to create intresing patterns in addition to that the figures are reduced to very simple elements, this gives the painings an abstract quality which also made this the most enyojable one.

I was really just experimenting
basically I got full page photos out of some 1970s knitting magazines from the thrift store
then created a stencil of each guy and layered it over the top of each photo
then rolled acrylic paint over the pics
then fed each page through the printer and printer random JPGS over them
then removed the stencil and stuck them on pages of text and added faces

The perception of depth here is, IMO, actually pretty powerful. However, there are a lot of inconsistencies that I don't think would be too challenging to clean up - like the roof of the church, and how it doesn't really connect to the Bell tower whatsoever. Extending the height of the roof behind the tower would remedy this.
The pickets in the fence also seem to come from a different perspective than the observer, but fences can be rickity and I don't see it as too much of a problem if you don't.
