Anyone here tried selling fan made merchandise? Did you earn a profit? Was it worth it?
I joined this club at my uni which helps sell fan made merchandise. They collect 15% of your revenue.

So exactly how does your club help you sell merchandise?

The club hosts stalls in comic cons and other public locations where the club's members' merchandise will be on sale there.

why not do that once? and after saw how things work, sell them yourself

Oh ok. I am from Hong Kong and rent is kind of expensive here.
Also, is Etsy worth a try if I am not American? Also, I don't really trust online transactions.

I say give it a go. If a 15% cut gets your stuff in places you wouldn't be able to get it without a decent up front investment it's probably worth it, assuming you're not expecting to make thousands of dollars on your merchandise.

I have no idea how much a stall goes for at a comic con but I'm willing to bet that if you're not well known that'd be a significant amount of your sales just to break even. At least "15% cut" is guaranteed profit if slightly reduced.

I haven't yet, but I've been drawing some charm designs because I'm planning on it.

The artist alley general on /cgl/ has been the most helpful place, I'd recommend checking it out.

Merch sells like hotcakes if you draw cute enough shit. I sold charms for the first time this year and it worked out really well. Kinda sucks you have to share revenue but if you're getting in because of the club, I suppose it's fair depending on the table cost.

I'm aware that Imgur.com will stop allowing adult images since 15th of May. I'm taking actions to backup as much data as possible.
