Need some gift ideas for an artistic friend. He loves to draw different types of realistic monsters. He especially loves anything Lovecraftian or Eldritch. I've been thinking about getting him the Dark Souls 2 design works. Any ideas on other gifts?

get him a Fur Affinity account. that way he can fap to as many OC eldritch abominations his little autistic heart desires.

usually when you want to gift something which you want the receiver to fully use and don't know what, money is the best answer
let him decide for himself

disregard the second 'you want', too many of them

I think you are on the right track OP get him an artbook from a game with gross monsters, might I suggest bloodborne? That game is riddled with lovecraftian looking abominations

That's when you give a gift out oif obligation. A real gift should be as much about what you want to show the recipient.

If you want that stuff in a concept art format then it probably doesn't get any closer than the online game "Secret World". Basically a mix of horror folklore, movie and writing mixed into an investigation/action mmo. And it is surprisingly well done as if done with passion. If he likes games then just get him that.

Who is the artist?

Dunno. You can use google reverse image search to find out. https://images.google.com/
Just click the camera and copy the image location (the pages html address line) into the pop-up box
Google Secret World concept art and start digging through the suggested links tied to images for more, there's a lot hidden out there as it is a big game.

I already reverse image searched it but it just led to pages that didn't cite the artist. I was hoping someone here would know.
Doodle I did in pen between classes, sorry for no color, I'm fuckin lazy. Its less cosmic horror and more undersea abomination, but I figured it would fit in nonetheless

Are you a teenager?

Why would that matter? He probably is since it looks like something a teenager would doodle while bored.

That's why I asked
I think it looks cool tho
monster hunter books
Honestly I'd suggest giving him a second book, or maybe a moleskin that he could carry around.
