Here's a list of artists that have some great portfolios. This list is not complete and it would be great if /ic/ decided to contribute names of artists that deserve recognition for their work. This list focuses on artists who have shown a clear understanding in the technique and dedication it takes to hone their craft. As a result, creative and alternate artists have been left out.

>If the thread receives good material, it will be occasionally continued for future reference
>The only stipulation is that added artists are requested to have a mastery or proficiency in a field that requires technique and practice in order to hone. This means artists who dwell in the realm of modern, post-modern, meta, and abstract art are probably not going to be incorporated in possible future lists. However, there are of course, exceptions (see Mirror's Edge Abstract Paintings)

This is ideologically driven total nonsense list of dog poops with severe judgmental complex and one giant baggage.

Kim Jung Gi
Ruan Jia
Nivanh Chanthara
Olly Moss
Sebastien Kaczorowski
You should put Dave Rapoza on that list regardless of your gay ass rules.

This is dumb and you have bad taste. It's fine to make lists of artists you admire, but don't go posting rankings online especially when you don't know what you are talking about.

Great addition, don't know anything about gay ass rules but the list is designed for a specific type of art. There's nothing wrong with the excluded art and styles as they are areas that require an amount of talent and creativity in order to succeed in, however for the sake of people who are looking for careers in commercial art, this list would be great for referencing the skill present in the industry.
Also there's alot of good art to study too

Hey man, sorry if I made it appear as if I was trying to make the list objective. The OP is very much a subjective listing, and I'll make sure to categorize the artists by their genres and portfolios in later revisions.

Definitely being added and probably the most comprehensive list of great references ever made. Unfortunately a few names aren't present there and most of them are people who are currently in the industry who -despite some questionable practices- are examples of what type of work is expected in order to make money in it. Of course, they should not be the golden standard, but the way the industry is headed, its good for people interested in it to have a reference for what they're getting into as opposed to what they personally feel like is the golden standard for their interpretation of art.
80% of these artist seem to be illustrators. Nice.
