anyone have tips for using watercolor on the go? as in using some pentel waterbrushes and a small halfpan set? i want to get into urban sketching

Complete watercolor babby here. So what I'm getting is to create volume and depth I do that through multiple washes and glazing?

if you're asking how to paint dark with watercolor, you can either glaze or just use less water and more pigments

My final for a drawing class, a self portrait as space. It's like 36x 22 and it was a goddamn pain cause it was my first watercolor, but thanks to books I got off of /ic/ it wasn't as awful as it could have been.
