What does /ic/ think of Raul Aguirre? He's worked for Disney for over a decade and he's been a part of films like Treasure Planet, and apparently he is one of Glen Keane's last students. He also does the Man vs Art podcast which is pretty decent. I took a look at his portfolio and a lot of the art isn't all that amazing. It's not shit but I don't think it's Disney quality. Do you not have to be that good to get a job at Disney? I'll post some of his art for examples.
Unless you're cherrypicking the worst examples you can find he strikes me as the quality level of someone who's been half-assing digital art for a year at most, not a decade at Disney.
I've never heard of him though.

He actually teaches at gnomon so you can probably see some more of his work here.

He's a storyboard artist. Probably he's great at composing and telling a story through sequential images and doesn't focus a lot on perfect drawings like an illustrator or concept artist might.
also, you're posting a lot of realistic drawings, when, if we works at Disney, probably isn't what he does all day. If you look at his cartoony character designs, they're pretty good.

true. Just checked out his storyboards and they look pretty good. Plus most of them are done traditionally so maybe he has trouble with digital.
