Thanks guys I was hoping to find some foreshortened limbs references.
And I scroll through the thread, all I can think is how awesome it would be if we could take these copyrighted images and make our own pirate gesture drawing site. I'm tired of drawing all the stock images on the main 3 gesture drawing pages.
>agata's fighting stance
I'm laughing hard
Imagine the situation
I made an executable Python 4chan image downloader if someone wants to download all images in a thread in a single click. You can find it here: http://www.mediafire.com/download/7s5det484e3i2fi/fdl.exe
I can also post source code if you're a little bitch.
usage: fdl.exe [-h] [-o] [-u] [-d]
-h, --help show this help message and exit
-o, --output show downloaded files
-u, --update update all archived threads
-d, --default use default windows directory
I know that's what you _really_ want to draw
Nobody gives a fuck about your opinions

He's on his toes, so the muscle is fully contracted. Same way when people show off their biceps they bend their arm to make the muscle bulge out (as opposed to having your arm straight out and your biceps long and stretched), except it's the opposite action because the calf is an extensor and the bicep is a flexor.
it looks unreal but since the length of the spine doesn't change, that would be low shoulders, not a long neck per se. You know Those people who put lots of rings around their neck push their clavicles down, they get long necks because they push everything down, they don't make their neck longer.
>the guy in the ape suit is literally the first thing I noticed about the image
Probably because of the placement of it when you click on the thumbnail to expand the image.
>Adverts are terrible studies. Filled with unnatural lighting and photoshopped to no end
As long as you are aware of this I don't see why it's a bad thing. They do that to make it look good. So if you study that you can make your paintings also look good. Same way when you do a mastercopy, you see the changes they made to improve it.
Well unless you're drawing something pornographic. Porn also works with interesting angles, which I find great for learning about foreshortening. Not every reference needs to be a full length view of an artistically posed girl.
Muscle studies? Drawing superheroes? Drawing body builders?
If I posted a picture of someone with dwarfism, sure you probably won't be regularly drawing that but it's fun to learn and draw people with different anatomies than what might be the norm.
Reference is reference, if I want to learn how to draw large, purposefully, and painfully obviously fake tits, old people, people with bad teeth, or dudes with sculpted abs than so be it.
Can we have a reference thread that ISN'T softcore porn? Come on, guys, I love seeing naked women and men as much as the next guy, but really.
And don't do the whole "they're just artfully done nudes, don't be a perv."
I mean, really.
Why do people complain about reference so much? Reference is reference, not every photo will be tailored to your current needs but someone out there may find it useful for their particular project. If you have a specific subject matter you want, why not request it? This is a general reference thread, whatever people feel like posting is what you get.
Oh, no, I'm not a SJW. Far from it, in fact. I just hate it when reference threads are mostly just sexy naked women, most of them in pornographic/provocative poses. There is a time and place for pursuing your sexual interests.
If the image limit hadn't peaked, I'd have posted some original photographs I took of my neighborhood freshly covered in snow.
