Why do people draw with short lines like this? I see it often.
>>497184
im guilty of this and i need to solve it
I never got the idea of hatching outlines like that
>>497184
because they have trouble drawing straight lines/don't have much line confidence
It's chickenscratching and as >>497197 said it's mostly lack of confidence. I'm still struggling with it.
>>497216
It's bad practice though. It's better to draw the whole longer line even if it's a little too long, and restate your line over that line if you messed up in your sketch.
>>497218
You have to outgrow it.
>>497218
You can get better at how you control your pen/pencil/brush by just doing exercises, but a sketch is always going to look -- sketchy.
>>497184
Oh hey that's my art haha
The thread was about making a shitty sketch so that's exactly what I did. I don't actually like sketching like that but you probably won't believe me anyway
>>497222
Yeah but you have to avoid chickenscratching even when sketching because you have to create confidence.
Restating or erasing is ok.
>>497226
Can you show me another sketch?
>>497358
Remember that I never said I was a good artist, by all means I'm still shit.
>>497401
I like this, your lines are really flowy
>>497406
awh thank you anon
>>497406
>flowy
that's confidence in line.
>>497406
I agree
