Trying to put together a design and model sheet for a 3D Gnoll model to use in Table top sim. Going to try and make a miniature skirmish game to play with my friend. Trying to make it look not goofy while making it not look like a wolf. Input would be great.
Not sure if I like this look. Think I may base it more off the DnD or Might and Magic VII design.
I think your gnoll is a bit too lanky. You want an advice? Study what ispired gnolls. Study Hyenas.
Notice the differences: while wolves are sleek and kinda pointy, arrow shaped, hyenas are less gratious, sturdier and generally thickier. Their center of mass is lower, their limbs are a bit more powerfu, larger. Their main strenght is the maw, powered by their massive shoulders. Overall, they are smaller and way less majestic, but where they lack in finesse, they make up in pure, raw power.
My advice? Lower you gnoll a bit and put more emphasis on the musculature. Enlarge both the neck and the muzzle, while reducing those anime eyes.
If you really want to look up to dnd, grab the monster manual, 5th edition. the 3.5 version is a werewolf in disguise and pathfinder is absolute trash
Thanks! I Have the 5ed monster manual on the self. I will do a Hyena study first then make it into a humanoid.

Been sick this week. Is this more like it?
Is this good enough to build off? I know the 3/4 shoulders are off a little but its to get the overall form.
