Cars. They're fun/obnoxious
>>487906
Honestly, i don't understand the hype for cars.
I dont know where to ask this so i will use this thread.
I have problems understand proportions when using this heads technique.
The character on the right is supposed to be 170 cm and has 6 boxes that are the size of the head.
The character on the right is 160 cm and has around 6 boxes too. How does that even make sense? Shouldn't the one on the left have 7 or something?
How does this all work? I want to draw a female character that is ~1,57 cm and dont know how many boxes to use.

sorry for the late response.
>When it comes to height, everything is only as big or small as the thing drawn next to them.
>the head is more or less the same size for everyone.
>proportion drawings don't show the hidden perspective that makes a drawing look 3d
>>489079
I don't know of any way to get exact heights, but in my experience it has never mattered. Look at the height of your character, and just try to make it feel similar, should be good enough. If you're really picky try and create a proportion to measure it by, might help.
Also in case you are curious,
1st head down is the bottom of chin,
2nd head is to the nipples,
3rd is center of naval,
4th is crotch,
5th is above the knee,
6th is half of shin,
7th is somewhere around top of the foot, although i'm not certain lel.
That's the head based proportions I use anyways. It's based off of my own body and i'm a guy so maybe it's not super accurate for women, but it works well enough. You should probably base your proportions off of your own body too.
Thoughts on how I could improve this? The ice is ~7% transparent, so you can kinda look through it. I don't think it looks icey enough though.

I just realized I didn't read what you were asking properly. (was the above post)
1: you might want to consider going on artwork and critique, >>/ic/
2: if I drew a stickman next to the earth, the stickman would be thousands of miles across, if i drew a stickman next to a mitochondria he'd be super tiny.
Point being that the size of what you draw is relative to what is around it. If the two characters were right next to each other and had the same exact proportions, the taller one will look taller, and wider, which might be weird.
3: It really doesn't matter how many centimeters tall someone is unless you know many centimeters everything else is in relation to it. Even then I'd argue it still pointless as that is a very rigid approach to art. It distracts you from focusing on important things like depth.
Might as well do it.
So I've been using this weird artstyle for a while now, and I decided to try and draw variations in human faces because drawing one face gets boring, and IRL you would need something other than hairstyle to identify somebody. The problem now is that now I can't draw exactly the same face now, if I were to draw 20 expressions of the same character, they'll just look like 20 different people cosplaying the same dumbass. My questions are:
- aside from nose shape, chin shape, eye width, cheekbones, jaw roundedness and eyebrow shape what else should I consider varying?
-How TF do I draw my character consistently? Any advice is appreciated.
-Also how do I draw lips? It's became a trouble ever since I've started to draw 70s-style but anime mouths are fucking boring.
This is a drawing I made on a whim. I apologise first of all for any eye damage caused due to viewing my shit art.

And before anyone asks, yes these are different characters. Forgot to add that.

I usually mark the 7th head on the ankle.

What's appealing about sports cars (to me IMO) is the sick speeds they are able to accelerate to, although in the downtowns it won't be extremely useful. I'm not sure about what the general normie society thinks though, maybe it's just the price tag.
I personally like cheap efficient cars, sports cars are for hedonists.

Sup dude who drew Dana getting double-deckered,
>How do I draw my character consistently? Any advice is appreciated
Expressive style, proportions, organic movement. All of your little dudes have the same face. People's shapes change when you give them gender (girls have slimmer profiles) and age.
>>487940
It's the verisimilitude of the repository of the car. It is a mechanical marvel that is flexible with the times. People of all ages fall in love with the automotive world. Perhaps someone's gramps likes keeping his '67 Caddy clean, or a dad finds happiness in repairing people's cars, or an adrenaline-filled F1 driver practices a corner for the qualifying, or a kid keeps a poster of a Ferrari in his room, or a teenager looking back at his beater 240sx when he walks away from it. It's the same love. >>489795 You're right.
>>489798
>All of your little dudes have the same face
Uhh, excuse me? It might've been because they're supposed to be Asians with the similar age.
How about these guys?
>>489794
Bruh it looks like if you had minimal graphics settings on Total Drama Island
>>489794
Change the eyes and fix the overall facial structure with variation depending on character. Sorry if this seems rude but it seems like you're using the same template for every character.
Better?
>>489806
Holy shit it kinda does. Thanks anon, had me blowing air out of my nose.
>>489832
have you tried drawing faces with other views e.g. front view/side view instead of always doing that 45 degree view?
>>489794
consider varying this.
all your faces look the same partly because they are all at eye level with no variation in angle/perspective.
>>489835
No, at least not with this semi-realistic style. 70s cartoons style? Yeah I guess.
>>489836
Her face is asymmetric. Dammit.
Also heads viewed from above/below is the bane of me. I'll post an update once my drawings no longer look extra dumb.
>>487940
because some cars look cool as fuck. And it's also one of the biggest forms of mobility in the modern world.
any recommended videos, websites, or books for a beginner like me?
try not to mention the /ic/ sticky if you can.

Find a cartoon you like, and start drawing the characters you like.
focus on the lines (angles, length).

here i do quick guide for you two on facial proportions
I have been drawing on the /co/ threads for about a year now, and most of wich has been Loud house, while I enjoy doing so inmensily I feel like im stuck in the style on the show.
Any tips on how to learn other styles or developing your own?
>>490543
If you want to develop your own style than there have to be some consistencies that apply throughout all your drawings that make them recognizably yours, either through line-thickness, or proportions, or colour, etc.
If you want to learn a certain style, the key is observation. find a drawing you like, and try to recreate it. pay careful attention to how the lines flow, and the proportions they use. After some practice, your drawing style will more resemble theirs.
here is an example of a drawing style that has a distinct look.
>>490543
Did you only draw that character to learn to draw or did you do other studies?
>>490551
i have never studied, I just have been doodling on the edges of my notebooks and trying to draw characters from anime and cartoons all my life, and only like a year ago got a tablet and started going into drawthreads.
only recently I started checking out actual guides and excercises.
>>490549
I draw a lot because is one of the few things I do enjoy, I just feel i could do it better.
I guess I should try drawing real life stuff in my own way in order to actaly develop a style of my own.
>>489770
Try locking the lineart layer and draw over the blade with a very light blue.
Draw naked D.Va giving naked Mei a best friend hug
Make it as wholesome and tasteful as you can as well, while keeping their features sexual
Anyone got good reference for the pattern on a cheongsam/qipao?
