Don't go easy on me
>>487010
I think you should correct the arm on the right but other then that good job!
>>487012
Thanks a lot! I was wondering how I could create some gray tones using ink similar to pencil (because it's what I'm used to). Is it as simple as buying a gray pen? Please help
>>487015
I think a gray pen would work with what you want to do
>>487012
Like this? She's supposed to be looking down over you from your pov. Do I need to flesh out the part of her arm I drew in pencil to create this effect?
The anatomy of the hooded figure is off - You should do some gesture/clothing studies. (His/her shoulders, torso, fingers, arm) Cool project tho
>>487010
That is pretty cool man
Newfound is one word. Story looks like shit. Do yourself a favor and burn it.
>>487964
Okay what do you think about my digital work then? Is it redeemable?
>>489233
You're on the right track, good details
>>489240
Thank you, do I stand a chance?
>>489793
Stand a chance to what? Make a manga? Start an online web comic, take commissions? Anyone "stands a chance" because everyone has there own style, so some may love your style of drawing, while others, not so much. I've always compared art to cooking; Two people can have the same recipe for a dish, but both can turn out tasting nothing alike. If you think you are ready, give it a shot. Don't go based on others opinions.

Thanks for the insight. What do you think of my character design?
>>490065
I like the character design.. But something is off with the proportions. I think the torso needs to be longer? It goes from breasts to waist, or at least the dress gives that illusion. Maybe the head is a little large.. Something is weird about the proportions though. My advice; draw her nude. No, I'm not asking you to post that. Draw her nude, then add the clothing, to see if it looks righ and you know where the shading and folds would be in the clothes. Then erase the body when the clothes are drawn over it. It also is easier to see what is wrong with the drawing, if any, without clothes covering "mistakes" so to speak with the anatomy.

Yeah I see what you mean now, I'll give it a shot
you've already won.
you're living your dream.
its the journey that counts.
ps i love it
pps its hard to make money in this world no matter what you do. fame and money is elusive.
marketing is king.

Best post on this board. Your post alone makes me feel so empowered. Thank you, really. I feel like I really did win
>>490163
hows this? I really focused on proportions this time
>>490240
MUCH better. so it was the torso. Drawing her naked first helped, didn't it? Don't you think she looks better compared?
>>490268
Yeah it really did help, also using references to draw her out naked first helped a ton
>>490275
I think she looks great! What are the markings in her eyes represent? Is she a magic user?
>>490329
She's a saint, which is basically a miracle user. The markings are supposed to be a reflection of each characters soul
>>487010
first thought was those clouds are amazing.
character anatomy is just non existent
>>489233
wow, I think that is really good. you can draw things you see really good.
>>490354
character looks flat, anatomy is off, and the head has two issues. the neck looks like its not properly placed on the body (too straight) , and the eyes and eyebrows are off kilter because she is looking at a downward 3/4 view?, but the eyes are more or less the same size and one eyebrow (the left one) is too small.
to show im not just talking out my ass, here is my request thread
>>488405
here is improvement thread
>>487904
summary. your ability to draw exactly what you see is very very good, way better than mine. However your knowledge of anatomy and your ability to draw human anatomy from memory is non-existent. (from what youve shown).
Drawing what you see is very different than drawing from memory/imagination. the two are separate skills. you can use one skill to supplement the other but in your case, your ability to draw what you see is very far ahead of your ability to draw from imagination.
can you post drawings youve done without a reference? or maybe youre a "painter" so you see things differently than I do. i dont know. post more drawings and I can give better criticism on where youre lacking.
>>490372
Sure. And you're right, I can copy very well but I've been trying to improve drawing with my imagination. Here's some more art by me this one was without any reference
>>490397
And some /ic/ all these I looked at a reference. Ignore Spooderman I did that when I was 6
>>490398
But yeah, as you can see my ability to draw what I see rather then from my imagination are leagues apart. I practice my non-reference art in my sketchbook and it's horrible. I make myself cringe looking at my horrible art. I created this "illusion" that I can draw good. But in reality if you gave me a pencil and paper and told me to draw something it would look like a 10 year old drew it
>>490372
Here's an update based on your thoughts about it. Its funny because those aren't even clouds, it's the ocean surface from an underwater perspective.
>>490414
I'm an idiot, I forgot the image. Sorry there's no color on this one
>>490416
you can't approach drawing from imagination like drawing from what you see.
When I draw from imagination, alot of the time, I am drawing what I don't see.
>>490424
thoughts?
>>490735
its your proportions that are off.
the hands are too small.
her left arm is too skinny.
her right elbow should be at about eye level if you want to show her right hand tying the ribbon in that position.
look at your own arms and their range of movement.
also, can I see your construction drawing?
>>490735
here I changed your drawing to show what I meant when I said your proportions were off.
post your construction drawing
>>490773
closest thing I have
>>490788
It looks like you did that after your completed coloured version. In terms of proportions it is much better (its left upper arm still looks too long, the part connecting the shoulder and the forearm.)
your construction should be simpler. This will cut down on the time it takes to adust your pose before you put in the details.
>>490809
Okay I see, do you have any tips for brush presets to use? I see the way ilya kush uses his brush strokes with spacing but I can't get it right. It bothers me to no end.
>>490830
I can't give any tips on that.
I use the default sai pencil tool for everything. Also, I almost never use colour because I can't tell the difference between blue and purple.

Why are you having autism rage all over /i/ just because you got told to stop spamming?
>>491133
On /i/? This isn't /ic/ so stop being an elitist d/ic/k
