Much improved but still kinda meh imo
This is... 2 years old, now? I think?
I recently got a wacom enabled convertible laptop/tablet and I want to start drawing. Any tips? Should I be using illustrator or something else? I'd also like to start doing vector art, would keyboard and mouse be preferable for that versus the digitizer?

Are you originally a traditional artist? If so:
>Draw something on paper (or find an old drawing of yours that you like)
>Trace over it in a drawing program so you get a feel of what digital drawing is like
>Play around with a few tools so you know what they do
If not:
>Just draw what you like/love (preferably something simple)
As for drawing programs... Illustrator seems fine. I only use Photoshop for digital works, however. I did try FireAlpaca at least twice before uninstalling it. It's nice, but a bit too simple for me. Hope this helps!
I don't know anything about vector art, so I can't help you with that. Sorry.
