Got the SE though. I wanted to get the normal one, but I couldn't get it from the store I had a gift card for, so getting the SE (like €25 more to have shit-tier silver borders) at that store with the giftcard was cheaper than getting the normal one from somewhere else.

I got an Ugee m708 because it was $60 and had 10 inches of space to draw on.

I love it, and the 10 pencil nibs it came with, but for some reason I get this weird lag/pressure sensitivity problem that makes it randomly fuck around with the pen (there is a way to fix it aparently). It's also loud as fuck.

Worth the $60 I guess but I wish I had money for a cintique

So far going with the 3rd tablet, which is an Intuos4 S, it's starting to get bit old now, but its doing fine for my skill level.

First tablet was a horrifying piece of cheap crap. Aiptek Hyperpen 6000U or something, needed a battery in the pen, and the pen itself broke in half at somepoint. Also everything on it creaked like mad. 2nd tablet, Graphire4 was neat, even if the rubber grip on the pen started to rapidly disintegrate a year or two into use.

Cheapest Bamboo Pad is quite enough for a starter tablet. And they're not that huge of a setback on the wallet either.
>>
>>455588
Actually scratch that. Just took a look at their current products, Wacoms newest Bamboo Pad is kinda meh. I guess it would suffice just for these oekaki things, but if you were to get one that would be good also for proper digital drawing, I'd then recommend looking at the Intuos line. Unless you can get some of the older Bamboo models from somewhere.

I have my good ol' trusty Bamboo Fun from 2007. But, I've had Intuos 3, 4, 4, 5. (I've had -four of the fuckers and every GOD DAMNED TIME THE FUCKING WIRE PORT BROKE LIKE A GOD DAMNED BITCH). That's about 1.7K, wasted on Wacom's shitty products.

I had a special carrying case and desk I used after the first two broke and STILL the shit up and exploded. I tried the Wireless bits too, but you know that shit still has to charge.

Ugh. I had to babysit and save up so much money.

But, my Bamboo friend has stuck with me for all of these years. I think I might just stick to the cheap Wacom products, at least they don't fuck up as bad.

Excellent timing for this thread/ Tablet wizards! What is a good tablet for the poorfag student who only has a 100usd budget? Obviously good is going to be a cost-to-quality relative thing. If it "feels" like drawing on paper all the better but I'll adapt either way. I don't mind looking at the screen as I draw since I basically stare at my screen most of the time anyway.

I'd like to have some options bookmarked before black friday/cyber monday. Thank you for your time.

i've had this tiny thing for several years, and despite the minor glitches, it still hasn't gone full kill yet

I cobbled this together tonight.

Wacom Bamboo Create, an old HP Latptop screen and a recently purchased screen controller board.
It actually didn't work how I hoped at first (with the screen turned on the tablet wouldn't detect its pen, making the whole setup moot) but after a little looking around I realized the metal plate on the back of the screen was messing up the tablet.
Took apart the screen, removed the plate (probably dangerous) and clipped off almost all the top portion of the metal frame to let the circuit behind the screen rest away from the tablet, then reassembled.

Works great (have to calibrate it each time I set it up though).
Gonna try to make some dedicated casing soon.

>tfw too poor and lazy for a tablet
I hear Wacom Bamboo is cheap and good for starters. I feel like not looking where you're drawing would take some time to get used to though.

Made a K'nex stand to lock the screen and tablet together and angle the display.
It can be angled up higher to use as a second monitor too.
The circuity is hidden under the set-up.
