Pic of David Rockefeller Snr. eldest son of John D. Rockefeller Jnr. and grandson of John D. Rockefeller Snr.
Sadly only high resolution pic I have to add. I have a few but they are small as shit, 400x500 type.
There strategy was simple.
When they first started they bought out as many other small oil holdings and derricks and bits of land until they got to like the last 5 or 3 major competitors.
They attempted to buy them out which failed because they knew that the Rockefellers would create a giant unbeatable monopoly that would force everyone to bend for them.
So what does Rockefeller do? He buys out the only nationwide company that makes and distributes oil barrels, collects all the barrels and ships them to newly built sheds and factories, locks them up in there and closes down the barrelling company.
This forced the other oil companies to sell there companies out because they were mining a ton load of oil but nothing to store them in.
It was as simple and sneaky as that in the beginning. This occurred in Cleveland.

Good lads.
I'll keep posting the some famous oil companies.
Gazprom, the World's largest private energy producer.
Rosneft, the World's largest publicly traded oil company.
Noir Russia's eternal backdrop.
ExxonMobil, valued at approximately $390 Billion.
PetroChina, fuel for a new empire.
BP, the World's biggest provider of butthurt since 2010.
Royal Dutch Shell, my favourite business story of any company. Have a look into it if you have the time, it's fascinating.
Anyway, let's get to the good part.
Is there anything more beautiful than a late night gas station?

Please enlighten us.
Do you guys think a golden age of electricity and clean energy is coming?
>>2876689
Not for a while. Non-petroleum energy sources are still relatively expensive and except for hydro and nuclear, intermittent.
"Expensive" meaning relative to fossil fuels. The oil industry understands more than most how the law of supply and demand works. For a brief time, gas prices in America went up to European prices. American innovation started coming up with all sorts of ways to conserve or use alternatives, because the relative price had equalized or made them more attractive. The price for gas dropped, innovation stopped, and we're all back on the derrick teat. That price hike may very well have been just a feeler to see where the price ceiling was.
>>2876689
Clean energy is certainly progressing at a rapid pace.
At least in some places. Do I think the Oil companies in the US will let go that easily? no.

>Fun fact: Japanese kamikaze pilots largely existed because of Japan's short supply of oil.
Ah, no. It wasn't about fuel shortage since they often used full fuel tanks as part of the explosive or incendiary payload. Kamikaze pilots and their aircraft were nothing more than human guided bombs since the Japs didn't have the technology for electronic guidance systems. The reason they weren't given enough fuel for a return trip was because their mission was only intended to be one way and as a deterrent to any of them pussying out. They weren't given enough fuel to fly to anywhere else except to their intended target (sometimes not even enough for that) and trying to return to base meant death for the pilot and dishonor for his family. Most pilots were taught how to take off and fly to a point on a map using basic navigation skills but unless they had previous flying experience, they weren't taught how to land safely.

He was principled and successful on his own terms. He worked his way from the bottom to the very top and when his peers lavished their newfound wealth on degeneracy and ostentation, he practiced relentless frugality and self-control and worked to instill those virtues in his children.
I think he was rather satisfied with the life he built.

I wish someone would tell me what fucking fascinates me so much about oil.
Whether it's gas stations at night, or oilrigs in the rising sun, I'm fucking mad about oil, the smell of oil makes me feel like drinking it. I've seen all the coolest shit there is to be seen on the planet, I've felt the earth shake as volcanoes exploded, I've been trapped in storms so violent the universe shivered in fear, I've danced under heavy artillery to the tune of CRAMs...
And then, I see a gas flare in the distance, and my dick gets HARD.
Also allow me to post my perfume. It kinda smells like gasoline, but then it's still a perfume, albeit not to everyone's tastes, and then the bottle reminds me of oil rig in the sunset.

I always wondered about this. Because if it was me, I would just ditch the plane and surrender to the Americans, rather than face certain death. But if you didn't know how to land properly, much less make a forced landing, you would be fucked anyway.
