ever find it strange that there are bigass craters right where big cities would usually be according to fictional lore (TES, Tolkien, GoT, etc)?
ever find it strange that bigass trench looks like the Pillar of Autumn crashlanded there?

The Pillar of Autumn wasn't large enough to produce that large of a trench, just saying.

this a topic of space Jerry. Take your meds before you get the gout again.

Gigapixels of Andromeda, the largest photo ever taken. Apologies for the video, but if you love space and high res photos, you need to see this.

who took the photo?
>>2882579
It's a 360° panorama, taken as a sort of selfie.
Since the fisheye quality of the lens allows it to overlap images, the places where the camera is not able to photograph itself overlap to leave the spot where the camera is out of the panorama. Looks a little strange, but how cool is it to get this view from Mars??!!!

Fuckin lulz
Best photo from moon IMHO
best i've got
>>2886805
wow thats amazing, what galaxy is that?
>>2886854
It's simply down to exposure time. Those images are photographing objects which are being directly lit by the Sun, the shutter speeds are similar to what you'd be using for daytime photography here on Earth (ie. fractions of a second). Try capturing a photograph of the stars at night - even from the middle of the ocean - using the same daytime camera settings, and you'll similarly get a pitch black sky. If you want to use the sorts of exposure times required to capture the stars (at *least* a few seconds, but even this will do a terrible job), the astronaut, Earth, and ISS in those photographs will be massively blown out and over exposed.
>>2886863
It's a fictional image, not a real astrophotograph.

This picture is captivating. From the start of phase 1 through phase for you can see how history is developing with the new introductions of the better telescopes starting from around a little bit before Christ was born he had the first images of our solar system and even a couple hundred years after that you get the next phases and then eventually you realize wow is God before us while we evolve as a human species? The answer according to physics is no clusters and superclusters and every Star and physical thing that we seeing Universe has always been there since the creation of the Big Bang.
How did I ever browse this board before having a 4k screen?

I don't understand how that explains the angle of the rover. If it were a panorama it would rotate on a swivel. If it were a selfie the arm would be present in the same spot throughout the rotation.
It doesn't make sense to me at all.
>>2888972
everything is literally in space though.

How's this for high resolution
I wanted to post image here, but get "image resolution too big". What max allowed resolution?

This has to be fake. The damage on the service module is consistent with the Apollo 13 accident but they never undocked at the moon.
>>2894737
Thought so as well. Afaik there's only the one shot of the damage taken through a window.
>>2859390
nice b8 m8
>>2894737
What "damage" do you think you're looking at in that image? That's the Scientific Instrument Module (SIM), it contains various instruments (eg. cameras) for mapping the surface of the moon.
http://www.ninfinger.org/karld/My%20Space%20Museum/simbay.htm
The interior of the SIM doesn't look anything like the interior of the damaged Apollo 13 SM. Heck, if you compare the damaged Apollo 13 images to schematics of the SM, you can even tell what some of the items are (eg. the two fuel cells up the top).
