Sunmi leaving also strikes me as really bizarre. I'm usually the first to side with a talent screwing over their employers for greener pastures because fuck greedy corporate parasites that would do the same in turn and all that... but in this case I'm a little shocked by the lack of loyalty. I mean, what other company would have given such a genuine second chance after you bailed ship in the middle of a major project, killed your own career (and therefore the money invested in you), and sat around for years doing nothing? What company would actually give you a freaking solo despite you not being a soloist just to make it happen? And it was such a successful comeback that it made you bigger than ever (individually) and kickstarted the whole solo trend.

I honestly sometimes think idols live in a warped world were they get in improper sense of their own fame. There's always someone writing you letters telling you you are their life. A small stable of stalkers. People recognize you on the street and want to take photos. Managers taking care of you. So it must feel like you're still a pretty damn big deal.

But the thing is all celebrities get that. Even Dal Shabet gets that. It doesn't mean you're invincible and can fill out stadiums by the thousands. Fans, sans the true hardcores, will melt away quick once you lose "it" status.
