An icon. First SLR. Do you recognize it?

It's a Polaroid SX-70. Not the FIRST SLR, but Polaroid's first consumer mass marketed SLR.

You can still buy films for those beauties online. Impossible Project makes them. The bodies are sold online for cheap; except if you're rich and buy a refurbished model at $500.

I currently own a SX-70. I love Polaroids. You can take a picture of almost whatever and it looks nice.
My next one will be a spectra, pic related. The films are slightly larger (not a square format) and they had some pretty neato features, like distance indicator in the viewfinder, tri-lense setup, etc.
It's a bit of a pricey hobby, but it sure changes from the DSLRs.

Oh my god! The memories. MY dad had one of those with a couple of lenses. Kept it for 30 years too before selling it.
Wish he had kept it. Lots of nice pictures taken with this thing.

I think he's confused because a variant of the SX-70 was the first commercially available autofocus SLR (ultrasonic, but still).
Not my photo, but I just got the RED Epic-W in. 8k video. This takes higher res stills than my GH2 DSLR, lol.

This one is mine :)

How much for this kit? I'm considering buying one
>>2775553
I paid about $25k, but it retails for about $37k.
I was a day 1 pre-order of the Scarlet-W, (12/10/15), with a "Scarlet Dragon owner priority", and in Oct of this year, I still didn't have the camera in hand. As a "sorry, we fucked up", RED gave the option to offer $10,000 off the body of the Epic-W for us waiting. I took that, and then the accessories, I have an Educational discount, taking off a few more thousand.
No other camera company would offer something like that, which is why I love RED.

This is great, thanks

You can! My current gf won't let me do it though, lol, but I have shot one with my trusty old DVX100 back in the day.
